Coach Bob, here!
Today I wanted to talk about a tiny little subject... healing the world.
So what is healing the world?
As you know, this world is in a lot of pain and it may be little things that are turning into horrible things that are happening around the world, but either way, there's a lot of fear and division.
In the past, I would avoid the pain and not dwell on the negative things going on. I tend to be a pretty optimistic person. Fortunately, that was my upbringing and just who I am as a person.
But, just like you, sometimes it all feels like too much and things get me down.
So, why am I here today talking about why it's important to heal the world and work through the pain?
It's so that you can learn to lean into the fear so that you learn how to trust, become unstuck, find community and learn how to step into your greatness.
So you can truly learn how to live, laugh, love, and enjoy life.
There are too many people that just aren't happy and enjoying life. I've been there, but I didn't stay there.
So how does one work through that?
Commit, Acknowledge & Share
I commit to myself that I matter most and I'm going to spend some time fanatically scheduling time for me to sit with myself. What's going on in my head? In my heart? This can seem counterproductive as a visionary but I can promise you it's one of the most powerful things you can do. It always you space to truly process.
I recommend downloading my Take 5 Check-In and spending a couple of minutes doing something for you. It could be anything: journaling, walking, meditating. Either way, just commit to those rituals and practices, and like you matter.
The second thing to do is acknowledge.
David Hawkins, who wrote so many brilliant books, wrote a book called Letting Go. In his book, he goes over his process. Part of his process is to not stuff down emotions, it's to acknowledge them. Ask yourself:
How am I feeling?
The old me would simply say "I'm fine!" but not get really clear on what I'm feeling, whether it's angry, frustrated, or sad.
One thing I learned back then was I was lacking a lot of emotional intelligence and I feel like a lot of the world is too. As a unit, we have to learn to recognize our emotions and release them.
So acknowledge that you have an emotion, accept that emotion, and know that it's okay to be upset.
Now how you react is a totally different choice. You want to learn to transform.
So acknowledge, accept and transform to a higher vibration of courage, hope, and peace.
Finally, we have share.
Find a safe space to share what's going on in your head and your heart.
For me, I'm very thankful that I have a very option relationship with my wife and I've told her many times "Here's what is going on in my head and my heart!". She's always there to listen and offer me that safe space. But I also know not everyone has that so you want to be sure and create it!
You can create a safe space within, and learn to hear YOURSELF. Write it out, create an audio, type it, whatever works best for you.
I will also share things with my team and community.
But most of the time I start with MYSELF and then go to other safe spaces to share.
